Active Medical is an online medical supply store that prides itself on being a company with a strong values-based culture. It was founded to help meet the needs of patients and doctors across South Africa.

Active Medical's director, Mareza Trengove, could sense the frustration after overhearing a conversation between the president of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) and a local private hospital about the lack of quality drug-free pain management solutions for knee patients.

As a mother to an active teenage boy that was often injured, and a dedicated medical administration professional, Mareza decided to leverage her network to provide cost-efficient and effective products that satisfy patients' needs and offers their doctors peace of mind.

Demand grew as doctors saw the value in a pack that was easy to use and offered unparalleled results. The range slowly grew from ice packs for knees, to include ice packs for shoulders, hips, then jaws.
